Mr Norton listened to my concerns and the problems I am experiencing following my fall. I have intra-medullary nailing in my leg following a right proximal femoral fracture. The fracture has healed but I am experiencing pain when sitting in my car and driving and also when I am sitting with my legs elevated. The pain feels like I am sitting on a ping pong ball which is resting on a nerve and I have to try and sit taking pressure off this area. I am walking better and further and on the whole am free of pain but when I try to use our rowing machine, experience pain in my groin for a couple of days. I am nervous doing exercises set by my physio as after a session, I find it painful to walk and feel like giving up on the physio but know that I need to continue to strengthen the muscles in my leg. Mr Norton didn't think it advisable to have the nailing removed as he felt that if I had another fall, the nailing would protect me and I had to agree with him. He is a very approachable and friendly doctor and I am glad I was able to see him for a second opinion. I have an open appointment should I need to see someone in the future.

I initially saw Mr Norton on March 2021 and was listed for THR. He was very professional and thorough in his assessment and answered all questions asked. I attended for surgery in December and was seen pre-operatively and given a further explanation of the procedure and expected recovery time. He visited me again before discharge. I have felt totally confident throughout and grateful that I have been under the care of such a competent surgeon
